UAE’s retail firm Landmark Group has signed an agreement with DHL Express UAE to use sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) in its logistics operations to reduce its carbon footprint.

Under the agreement, the Landmark Group will adopt DHL’s GoGreen Plus programme in its global air freight movements.

DHL said that the each tonne of SAF deployed through the GoGreen Plus service can deliver up to an 80% reduction in lifecycle carbon emissions when compared with traditional aviation fuel. DHL’s carbon reductions are validated and certified by Société Générale de Surveillance (SGS) ensuring full transparency and traceability for customers.

“Landmark Group’s decision to adopt GoGreen Plus reflects how progressive enterprises are keen on moving the industry toward a net-zero future. We’re proud to support their decarbonisation goals with logistics solutions that deliver transparency, credibility and real impact,” said Mahmoud Haj Hussein, country manager of DHL Express UAE.

In addition, group chief financial officer of Landmark Group, Rajesh Garg said: “Our partnership with DHL marks an important step in reducing our Scope 3 emissions and advancing our decarbonisation goals through credible solutions like SAF.”
