Jetex has signed a Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) offtake agreement with Shell Aviation to provide low-carbon jet fuel to aircraft operators and private owners from its private terminal at Dubai World Central (DWC) airport.

“Bringing SAF to the UAE is a significant achievement, and I am delighted to finally offer this type of aircraft fuel to our customers in Dubai in partnership with Shell Aviation,” said Adel Mardini, Founder and CEO of Jetex.

Dubai-based Jetex supplies fuel to nearly 3,500 airports across six continents through a network of 600 suppliers. Earlier in 2023, the company partnered with 360 Jet Fuel Ltd to offer SAF book and claim options to its customers.

“To reduce emissions from aviation, all stakeholders in the aviation value chain must contribute. This is particularly crucial for private business customers as they can generate a concentrated, high-impact demand for SAF,” said Doris Tan, General Manager Asia and Middle East at Shell Aviation.

“Expanding the availability of SAF to new locations is equally important, which is why it has been highly rewarding to collaborate with Jetex to enhance our SAF capabilities in the Middle East by delivering SAF at DWC for the first time.”

Last month, Emirates signed a 300,000-gallon SAF offtake agreement with Shell Aviation to reduce its carbon emissions.
