German e-commerce platform Mytheresa announced that it is planning to invest several million euros in DHL Express new GoGreen Plus service  under a five-year strategic partnership agreement to increase use of sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) for its international shipments.

“Mytheresa is committed to working with us to make international express transportation more sustainable. This makes Mytheresa the first and largest ecommerce platform based in Germany to invest in SAF and to invest an impressive figure to make international express deliveries more sustainable,” said John Pearson, CEO, DHL Express.

DHL Express launched GoGreen Plus in 2023 and uses CO2-insetting and SAF to enable customers to reduce the CO2e emissions associated with their freight. Mytheresa is estimated to reduce CO2e emissions by more than 27,000 tons during the five-year agreement.

“Based on this unique long-term agreement with DHL Express on the use of SAF, we will be able to significantly reduce greenhouse gas emissions per order shipped,” said Sebastian Dietzmann, COO, Mytheresa.

“With this largest ever investment by a company in Europe in DHL Express’ GoGreen Plus program, Mytheresa underlines its extraordinary ESG commitment and offers its luxury customers an even more sustainable shopping experience in the future.”

GoGreen Plus has agreements with three of the largest SAF producers including bp, Neste and World Energy.
