ATF launches SAFc book and claim scheme in Channel Islands
Channel Islands-based fuel supplier ATF Fuels announced the launch of sustainable aviation fuel certificates (SAFc) book and claim scheme allowing buyers in the region to claim the use of SAF in their operations.
Under the scheme, users ranging from commercial airlines to private jet operators can purchase SAF certificates without the need to purchase the fuel itself.
“We are excited to be the first to introduce this innovative scheme in the Channel Islands,” said Jonathan Best at ATF. “The SAFc Book and Claim scheme is a testament to our dedication to sustainability and our commitment to providing aviation users with the tools they need to make a real impact on reducing carbon emissions. By making SAF more accessible through this flexible and efficient mechanism, we are taking a meaningful step toward a greener and more sustainable future for aviation.”
The scheme works by allowing aviation users to purchase SAF certificates, which represent the environmental attributes of SAF that has been produced and used elsewhere.
These certificates can then be used by aviation companies to meet their sustainability targets, promote green credentials, and support the global transition to SAF.
ATF said the scheme is not limited to operators at Jersey Airport in Channel Islands but businesses can also procure SAFc for their employees business travel.
