LanzaJet
LanzaJet was founded in 2020 to focus on the development of SAF via the commercialization of its leading, exclusive, and patented Alcohol-to-Jet (ATJ) technology. This followed 14+ years of successful technology development and scale up by LanzaTech and the US Department of Energy (DOE).
LanzaJet was formed through the contributions of its investors LanzaTech, Suncor, and Mitsui, along with support from All Nippon Airways and the DOE. LanzaJet continues to accelerate its growth through new partnerships and have since welcomed additional investment and support from British Airways, Shell, Microsoft, Breakthrough Energy, Southwest Airlines, Groupe ADP, MUFG, and Airbus.
In January 2024, LanzaJet opened the world’s first and only commercial ATJ plant – Freedom Pines Fuels – in Soperton, GA. Coming online this year, it will produce 9 million gallons of SAF and 1 million gallons of renewable diesel annually. LanzaJet is active in 25 countries and its technology is being deployed around the world.
