Texas-based CVR Energy announced that the company is considering plans to repurpose their Wynnewood, Oklahoma refinery’s renewable diesel production unit towards 100% sustainable aviation fuel (SAF).

Pietro, Revo International and Ecos announced the launch of an initiative to provide used cooking oil from three restaurants operated by Pietro to be used as feedstock for sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) production.

As part of the initiative, Ecos will support the overall construction of the project, Pietro will provide the waste cooking oil as a waste generating business operating a restaurant, and Revo International will collect the UCO and provide it to SAFFAIRE SKY ENERGY. The three companies will work together to promote this project.

SAFFAIRE SKY ENERGY, a joint venture between Cosmo Oil, JGC Holdings and Revo International, manufactures and supplies domestically produced SAF from UCO.

The collected waste cooking oil will be recycled into SAF through various processes, contributing to the decarbonisation of the aviation industry. Pietro will provide resources as a waste generator and Revo International provides them to SAF, creating a resource circulation system in which the two companies work together.
