Mark Liebster appointed as senior strategic advisor to Shaphargroup’s Rotterdam SAF project
Shaphargroup, developer of a sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) refinery in Rotterdam, today announced the appointment of Dr. Mark Liebster as senior strategic advisor. The company’s facility has a nameplate production capacity of 215,000t/annum and will be using Honeywell Ecofining technology.
Liebster’s role will focus on the financing strategy and investor positioning as the project moves to the next stage of development. In his role he will be working closely with the senior leadership team.

Liebster has over 25 years experience in international energy. Spending much of his career at Shell, he then moved to ADNOC as SVP, Downstream Mergers & Acquisitions and New Business Development. Most recently he served as CEO of Utopia World, a biogas, biofuels and agriculture business, where he led the company through a $33m series A funding round.
