The Civil Aviation Authority of China (CAAC) announced the launch of sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) technical centre to aid in standard setting and promote research and development in the sector.

Newly-launched centre will be located in China’s south-western city of Chengdu which will help the officials in quality control, setting standards and promote the usage of green jet fuel in the country.

China is all-set to become a leading SAF producer in the Asia-Pacific region as private firms have poured more than $1bn in to setting up new projects across the country.

The country is leading exporter of used cooking oil and raw materials used in production of SAF across the world – primarily EU and US.
