Royal Air Maroc operates SAF flight from Marrakech to Paris

Moroccan national carrier Royal Air Maroc announced that it operated second flight on sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) to Europe.
The Flight AT740, a Boeing 737 NG, took off from Marrakech for Paris-Orly airport – a significant milestone for Africa.
“Royal Air Maroc, in partnership with Vivo Energy Morocco, is taking a significant step in sustainable aviation,” said the company in a statement.
“On February 20th, the airline operated its second flight using SAF, and for the first time to Europe, between Marrakech and Paris, marking a historic first for Paris-Orly Airport. Powered 40% by sustainable fuel, this flight significantly reduces CO2 emissions and marks another milestone toward more responsible air travel.”
The use of SAF comes as the EU has set a 2% SAF mandate from 2025 onwards and all flights into the continent are required to have at least 2% SAF in their fuel mix.
