Montana Renewables launches MaxSAF
A shipment of 7,000 gallons of Sustainable Aviation Fuel was delivered to Dearborn, Michigan from Montana Renewables, LLC. The SAF will be transferred to Detroit Metropolitan Airport via pipeline to fuel Delta flights.
US-based sustainable aviation fuel producer Montana Renewables (MRL), in collaboration with Calumet Montana Refining (CMR), said it has commissioned onsite blending and shipping facilities to offer a nominal 50/50 blend of sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) – called MaxSAF – certified under ASTM D7566 and ASTM D1655 specifications.
This SAF will initially be distributed through AEG Fuels’ network to select aviation hubs in Montana, Washington, and Oregon.

MRL said the launch of MaxSAF, it can deliver the SAF from truck rack and opens the sustainable aviation market outside of major airports.
