Sasol and Topsoe launch SAF joint venture called Zaffra
Sasol and Topsoe have launched their sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) joint venture called Zaffra. Based in Amsterdam, Zaffra will focus on the development and delivery of SAF supplies.
Zaffra plans to blend Sasol’s expertise in facility development, construction, technology and operating expertise with Topsoe’s carbon emission reduction technologies. The companies recently announced the appointment of Jan Toschka as Zaffra CEO.
“Leading Zaffra in this crucial mission is my privilege,” said Toschka. “The growing demand for SAF will require multiple pathways and Zaffra is in a unique position to become a relevant player in this market,” he added. “Backed by Sasol’s and Topsoe’s legacies, our offer combines leading technologies with decades of experience in building and running production assets. We recognise the differences in each opportunity.”
Fleetwood Grobler, president and CEO, Sasol said: “Sasol is thrilled to further our global sustainable aviation fuel ambition through Zaffra. Zaffra is built on decades of collaboration between Sasol and Topsoe”.
