Morrison Express, China Airlines sign SAF deal
Taipei-based global logistics services company Morrison Express signed a SAF deal with China Airlines as a corporate client to help reduce aviation sector emissions from transporting passengers and cargo.
The two firms will join hands to reduce carbon emissions from air transport and achieve the Net Zero carbon emissions goal by 2050 via the SAF deal.
China Airlines has been one of the leading SAF adopters in the region using SAF on ferry flights in 2017. The airline first used SAF on passenger-carrying flights fuelled by SAF in 2023.
Earlier this year, the airline launched the SAF partnership programme for upstream and downstream vendors as well as customers. Morrison Express was the first company to join the programme and support the use of SAF by the China Airlines freighter fleet.
“Morrison Express’s commitment to formulating a corporate sustainability roadmap that provides its customers with green logistics solutions is perfectly aligned with China Airlines’ ESG philosophy,” the companies said in a joint statement on the SAF deal.
“The SAF used for the new partnership produces 80% less carbon emissions than conventional fuel, a percentage that should encourage even more companies to join the program and establish the foundations for ESG sustainability.”
