Taiwan’s CPC begins SAF supply

Taiwanese state-owned CPC Corp has for the first time begun supplying sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) in the country, said Reuters quoting the country’s aviation regulator Civil Aviation Administration (CAA).
CPC has imported 400 metric tonnes of SAF while domestic energy firm Formosa Petrochemical has produced 5,500 tons of renewable fuel (including SAF) in 2025 so far.
Formosa is planning an additional 6,000 tons of SAF during the ongoing year using the coprocessing pathway from used cooking oil.
CAA further said that the SAF (domestically produced and imported) was blended with conventional jet fuel and was supplied to China Airlines EVA Air, and Starlux at the Kaohsiung, Songshan, and Taoyuan airports.
The airlines are increasing the use of SAF owing to CAA’s indicative 5% SAF target from 2030 onwards.
