Norsk e-Fuel to work with Aurora Infrastructure on Finnish e-fuel project
Norsk e-Fuel has partnered with Aurora Infrastructure to cooperate on the development of Project Rauma in Finland.
“Access to robust, reliable electrical infrastructure is a prerequisite for large-scale e-SAF production” says Lars Bjørn Larsen, CCO at Norsk e-Fuel. “By partnering with Aurora Infrastructure, we can reduce capital intensity in the project, improve returns, and focus fully on developing and constructing the fuel production plant.”
The two firms will work together on the development and construction of the electrical infrastructure such as grid connection and substation required to enable the large-scale production of synthetic, sustainable aviation fuel (e-SAF).
“We are proud to partner with Norsk e-Fuel, an innovative leader in the sustainable aviation fuel business. Their upcoming projects in Rauma but also in Tornio and Imatra will have significant positive impact both locally, regionally and throughout the Nordics,” says Robin Lindahl, CEO of Aurora Infrastructure.
Under the MoU, the partners will explore a model in which Aurora Infrastructure designs, finances, builds, owns and operates the electrical infrastructure for the planned e-SAF plant.
Norsk said this separation of energy infrastructure from fuel production will allow the company to concentrate on its core expertise in developing power-to-Liquid plants, while supporting stronger overall project economics.
