Stratos, AIA join hands to help decarbonise aviation

Monaco-based aircraft asset manager Stratos said it is partnering with the Aviation Impact Accelerator (AIA) to identify operational and financial levers required to help the aviation sector achieve net-zero CO2 emissions by 2050.

“Aviation is one of the highest-profile and most difficult-to-decarbonise sectors, making it amongst the top sustainability challenges we face … This collaboration with the AIA is an evolution of our investment in early-stage hydrogen powered aircraft programme (hydrogen.aero) and we are thrilled to become part of this exciting collaboration,” said Gary Fitzgerald, CEO, Stratos.

This collaboration will support the development of the AIA’s scenario-based tools to help airlines analyse and evaluate different decarbonization pathways. 

Led by University of Cambridge’s Whittle Laboratory and CISL, AIA is an international team developing tools and resources to guide policymakers and airlines towards sustainable aviation practices.

Stratos, an aircraft asset manager, brings industry knowledge in fleet management and finance to support AIA’s data-driven approach.
