Bangchak receives ISCC EU certification for SAF
Bangchak Corporation, along with subsidiaries BCPT Co and BSGF, has been awarded the International Sustainability & Carbon Certification (ISCC) across its entire supply chain of renewable fuel production.
The company said that the certification means Bangchak, along with its partners, can now distribute sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) and bionaphtha that meet international and European standards for sustainability.
Recognized by the European Union, the ISCC EU standard ensures biofuel and biomass production for transport fuels meet the EU Renewable Energy Directive (RED) criteria.
The company said that it has been certified by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) to demonstrate the use of SAF under the Corsia standards.
‘Fry to Fly Campaign’
The Queen Sirikit National Convention Center (QSNCC) in Bangkok announced that it is joining forces with Bangchak Corporation on the ‘Fry to Fly’ campaign to tackle food waste reduction while promoting the use of SAF.
Through this program, QSNCC will send leftover cooking oil to BCPCL for conversion into SAF.
