Amazon joins the SAF Coalition
The Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) Coalition announced that technology firm Amazon has joined as a member to advance SAF as key lever in decarbonisation of aviation.
“We are thrilled that Amazon has joined the SAF Coalition. Their addition to our growing membership marks a pivotal moment for our collective efforts to scale SAF production and create a more sustainable future,” said SAF Coalition Executive Director Alison Graab.
“With a significant presence in the logistics and transportation sectors, we look forward to the insights they will bring.”
The coalition said that Amazon’s inclusion underscores the growing momentum and commitment to advancing SAF as a key element to improve the efficiency and environmental impact of jet fuel, create domestic jobs and enhance American energy independence.
The SAF Coalition represents key players in the SAF value chain and work together to rapidly invest in the SAF sector and advocate for the incentives and policies necessary to promote US economic competitiveness in the emerging SAF marketplace.
The SAF Coalition has grown to more than 50 organisations across the SAF value chain since its launch earlier this year.
Encompassing airports, airlines, aircraft manufacturers, agribusinesses, feedstock producers, labor unions, and technology companies, the coalition advocates for policies and incentives that will rapidly increase the development, production, and adoption of SAF.
