Renewable fuels developer EcoCeres announced that it has delivered 10m litres of neat sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) for further blending at the Evos Ghent terminal in Belgium.

“We are thrilled to announce this collaboration with Evos, a well-established player with access to critical EU infrastructure. It allows the repurposing of existing infrastructure, securing green jobs, and providing our customers with an easy choice between fossil jet fuel and SAF,” said James Ni, CEO, EcoCeres.

EcoCeres produced the SAF via the HEFA-SPK technology at its 168,000 mt per annum plant in Jiangsu, China.

Evos Ghent, with a history in storage and handling of jet fuel, made its first-ever SAF delivery through in January 2023 through the NATO Central European Pipeline System (CEPS) to Brussels airport.

Evos said that it has taken various steps to repurpose infrastructure in Ghent and Amsterdam to meet future aviation fuels blending requirements. Ghent is now one of the largest SAF terminals in Europe.

“We are pleased to welcome EcoCeres, a leading producer committed to innovation in the sustainable fuels sector. Storage and distribution are critical parts of the supply chain. Evos is proud to partner with EcoCeres and support the global transition to lower-carbon aviation,” said Harry Deans, CEO, Evos.

EcoCeres, one of the leading SAF producers in China, recently announced that it has secured 100,000 cubic meters of expanded storage from Dialog Group at its terminal in Johor, Malaysia for its biofuel products.

EcoCeres was named in the list of companies imposed with EU’s anti-dumping duties for its biodiesel exports to the region. The EU imposed a duty of 12.8% on EcoCeres Group products with the exemption on SAF.
