Qatari financial institution Ahlibank has entered in an agreement with DHL Express to join its DHL GoGreen Plus service to reduce CO2 emissions by 50% through the use of sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) for all future air shipments.

“We are proud to collaborate with DHL Express Qatar in adopting the GoGreen Plus service,” said Mashel Al-Malek, head of administration department, Ahlibank. “Incorporating SAF into our logistics demonstrates our proactive approach to environmental stewardship and our dedication to building a sustainable future for Qatar. This initiative reflects our broader vision of integrating sustainability into all aspects of our business.”

Ahlibank said the initiative will not only support its own sustainability goals but will also extend to its clients, with precise calculation of carbon emissions.

“Ahlibank’s commitment to sustainability through our GoGreen Plus service highlights the crucial role that businesses can play in supporting the Qatar National Vision 2030. By switching to SAF, Ahlibank is setting a powerful example for other institutions. Together, we aim to make a lasting positive impact on the environment and contribute to Qatar’s sustainable growth,” said Ahmed Elfangary, country manager, DHL Express Qatar.

In a separate announcement, Italian tool store operator Mister Worker also announced it is signing up to DHL’s GoGreen Pus to minimise its environmental footprint.

“Mister Worker believes meaningful progress happens when companies unite to achieve shared goals. Joining forces with DHL Express was a strategic choice that reflects our vision of growth, which is aligned with nature-centered responsibility. By partnering with a global player committed to sustainable solutions, our online shop for MRO equipment is amplifying its efforts, showing that collaboration can drive significant change in ecological progress,” said the company in a statement.

By reducing emissions in the shipping of our power tools, measuring instruments, PPE, toolboxes, and other essential equipment, the company said it is taking a stand for the planet and demonstrating its focus on preserving natural resources.
