Belimo Automation to use SAF on freight shipments
Switzerland-based HVAC field devices producer Belimo Automation said it has partnered with Swiss firms Lamprecht Transport and Swiss WorldCargo to reduce carbon emissions on international air freight shipments to invest in sustainable aviation fuel (SAF).
The initiative will mitigate approximately 650 tons of CO2e emissions in its first year of operation, with the potential to ramp up SAF usage in subsequent years.
“At Belimo, sustainability is an integral part of our corporate strategy,” says John Muncey, head of group transportation at Belimo. “This investment in SAF is not just about reducing emissions — it’s about taking direct responsibility for our environmental impact and working with our trusted partners to drive meaningful change”.
For the batch of SAF used, Lamprecht Transport coordinated the logistics, while Swiss WorldCargo facilitated the SAF integration within its cargo operations.
“We are proud to be part of this joint effort,” says Gieri Hinnen, head of global sales at Swiss WorldCargo. “By working hand in hand with like-minded partners, we’re taking concrete steps toward our shared ambition of more sustainable air logistics.”
