Renewable energy company Qair and French refined products pipeline network operator Trapil announced a strategic partnership to develop e-fuel distribution projects in France and internationally.

“We are delighted to join forces with Trapil, the historical and largest pipeline operator in Europe. Qair shares with Trapil the same vision of the future of e-molecules, and we are aiming to capitalise on Trapil’s expertise to be ready to deliver competitive products to our clients,” said Louis Blanchard, CEO, Qair.

The collaboration aims to support industries in their decarbonisation efforts by providing clean and sustainable energy solutions.

Qair is actively developing e-fuel production projects in regions where it operates renewable energy assets, including Brazil, France, and Iceland. In France, the company is constructing the country’s largest renewable hydrogen production unit and working on e-SAF projects with Airbus.

Trapil, with its extensive pipeline network connecting major French ports and airports, is well-positioned to facilitate the distribution of e-fuel. The company’s expertise in transporting liquid energy products and its international experience make it a valuable partner for Qair.

“Trapil is incredibly proud to launch this ambitious cooperation in e-fuels with a reknown[ed] firm such as Qair. This agreement is perfectly in line with our long term strategy. Together with Qair, we agreed on the need for unprecedented innovation and collaboration from key actors of the energy transition. I am convinced that, in France and abroad, we can become an active part of the solution to the world’s energy challenge” added Xavier Folch, general manager, Trapil.

Through this collaboration, Qair and Trapil aim to optimise the entire value chain of e-fuel production and distribution. By combining their strengths, the companies can offer competitive products to European clients and contribute to the global energy transition.
