Dublin-based Future Energy Global (FEG) said it has signed letter of intent with clean alternate fuels developer Carbon Neutral Fuels Ltd (CNF) to negotiate an offtake agreement for a portion of CNF’s future eSAF production.

“Giving SAF producers the security of multi-year offtake agreements is a key part of our strategy to drive SAF market growth and help reduce aviation emissions,” said Natasha Mann, CEO and co-founder of Future Energy Global.

“From 2030, e-SAF will become an increasingly important part of our offtake portfolio, and we are looking forward to exploring with Carbon Neutral Fuels how their innovative e-fuel could be part of our offer to airlines and corporates.”

FEG said that entering into long-term offtake agreements with SAF producers provides cost-effective SAF solutions for airlines and enables investors and corporate stakeholders to participate in the scale-up of SAF production.

Meanwhile, Carbon Neutral Fuels currently developing a first-of-a-kind, commercial-scale power-to-liquid (PtL) sustainable aviation fuel facility in the United Kingdom.

“We are thrilled to be in discussions with a market leader like Future Energy Global regarding a future offtake agreement. Securing commercial offtake is a key milestone in establishing the bankability of the ASAP-DAC project,” said Mark Amor, commercial director at Carbon Neutral Fuels.

“Not only will this project deliver environmental benefits, but it will create highly paid skilled jobs, deliver domestic energy security, and contribute to regional and national economic growth.”

Bringing together engineering and direct air capture partners, the consortium is eyeing to setup a refinery to produce e-SAF with an 89% reduction in lifecycle emissions versus conventional fossil-based jet fuel.

Once operational in 2030, this facility will produce 25,000 tonnes/annum of e-SAF.
